Healthy Dairy Alternatives

This is for people that love dairy but can not drink it due to food intolerances or concerns about weight or digestion. Welcome to the world of nut milks! Did you know that you can make a thick creamy milk substitute from nuts and seeds? Tastes just like cow's milk except minus the fat and millions of calories that go along with it. It is raw and completely digestible. Not only that you can add things to nut milks to spice it up, such as vanilla bean, honey, agave nectar, carob, cocao powder, and banana. Anything you like.

Hemp Milk

Hemp is one of the most nutritionally beneficial  food sources on Earth and is considered a superfood by many leading health experts.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup shelled hempseeds
1 cup water
flavorings (vanilla, maple syrup or honey)

Directions:

Place seeds into a blender and add small amount of water 1 inch above the seeds. Turn blender on at multiple speeds and agitate seeds so they become a thick hemp cream.

Then add either vanilla, maple syrup or honey or only a ripe banana and serve as a thick drink or add water at a ratio of 4.75 water to 1 part seed for a lighter hemp milk.

A great alternative to soy milk without the throwaway aseptic containers.

Macadamia Milk

Macadamia nuts are a true beautifying food, due to a very high proportion of monounsaturated fats, which are the good fats, and very good for our skin.

Ingredients:

1 cup raw macadamia nuts, soaked for 1 hour or more
3 cups purified water
1/8 cup agave nectar OR raw honey
2 Tbsp coconut butter
2 tsp vanilla extract OR 1 vanilla pod
1/8 tsp sea salt

Directions:

Place nuts and water in a blender and blend on high speed.
Add remaining ingredients and blend.

Quick Nut Milk

2 cups purified water
Dash of sea salt
2 Tbsp agave nectar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract OR 1/2 vanilla pod
1 Tbsp coconut butter (optional)
