Homeopathy: The Process of Cure

The question from many patients is how do I tell if I am getting better? Well there are many answers, there is the homeopathic text book answer known as "Constantine Hering's observation of cure". The process of cure is when the symptoms move:

1.) From above downwards (relief is felt in the upper part of body before the lower)
2.) From within outwards ( last place disease shows up is on the skin, before cure )
3.) From a more important organ to a less important one (from vital organs, such as liver to the skin and extremeties)
4.) In the reverse order of their coming (Healing progresses in a definite order, going in reverse chronological order, from the most recent illnesses to the oldest, and in the process of cure a person may re-experience previous symptoms, also called return of old symptoms, ROS)The state of health will retrace backward via the same path that led us to disease in the first place

Healing also takes one month for every year the symptoms have been present

One of my patients initially came to see me for an unknown rash that had spread to her whole outer body. The rash appeared first on her shins, then it started to move upwards to her groin and eventually to her arms and face. When she started to get better, the rash first dissappeared on her face and arms, then her groin improved and finally her shins. So the last thing to get better was her shins which is where it started. So that is an example of the reverse order from which it first appeared, and also her face and arms got better before her groins, so the healing also took place from top to the bottom.

The process of cure in the emotional sphere is similar: My philosophy is any emotional issue that is ready to be released is the first to go. The patient may want to cure insecurity, but may not be ready to release all that is involved with it or associated with it, so they must release what they can handle, then it leads to readiness for other inner pains to be resolved. It's like Yoga, you cannot expect to to Scorpion pose if you can not do a backbend.

Every time you go to yoga, the student must go deeper into the posture a little but at a time until eventually you master it, before you can do a Scorpion pose (on the right) you must

-strengthen your core muscles
-you must be able to touch your toes
-do a backbend
-do a headstand
-plus about twenty other poses

All these postures get  you to that one pose, that looks so good. The emotional body is exactly the same, we can't be blissed out spiritual masters living with our millions in Hawaii if we cannot afford to pay our rent. Many issues need to be resolved usually before that one big one can finally be ready to be resolved. In laymans terms......baby steps.
